A new season – a new beginning

May 28th, 2009 by Joe

I sit here at the breakfast table, thinking about the last post (waaaay back!), and how I need to commit to sharing what I’ve been through in terms of spiritual growth!  I pray the blog updates will make you come back as I start this new beginning, walking alongside the Lord in obediance – instead of running away on my own.  Today’s word is simple, and applies to all of us; remember you are not the provider to yourself and family; you are merely the steward of what God gives you.  Ask Him to show you how to use the resource He gives you, and He will bless your every step.

Next month I begin touring with the Drake band again; it has been a long dry spell, and I come back to a tour in Hungary!  I am also preparing to record with a new artist – Jeremy Whitaker.  Jeremy has a fabulous heart for the Lord, and he is abundantly blessed with writing skills!

Pray for my wife and I as we prepare for Hungary; many things need to come together – not the least is about $2500 worth of missions support to provide tickets and meals!  Yes, I do this as a "musicianary" – a missionary using music to spread the Gospel – and it is done with financial support from a faithful few that send money in to Operation Mobilization to fund my activities with them.  There is no salary involved; I have not felt led to ask for one, as I have a regular job that the Lord uses to provide my family’s needs.  Donations are used to pay for airfare, hotels and food while I am on tour.

If you feel led to contribute to our cause, feel free to write to me and I can give you the information to make a charitable donation for our activities.  Otherwise, please join us in prayer for the lost; that we may reach them through our music and our testimonies.

God Bless you all – keep posted, as this season promises to be a fruitful one!
